Management (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Chiptech design and manufacture lifesaving electronic devices from a purpose built facility in Ferrymead, Christchurch. We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to manage the smooth running of the Production Department to ensure production targets are achieved, and that a high standard of quality is maintained to exceed our ISO 9001 certification. Supporting our production teams and associated departments to enable them to perform at their best.Reporting to: CEOManage/Supervise: Production Team Leads / SMT Technicians / Manufacturing Engineering Manager / Design Engineers / Technical TeamResponsibilities:Optimise production through workflow and scheduling efficiencies.Communicate with production staff to maintain scheduling for production line.Monitor the implementation of written production procedures and the skills matrix, and ensure they are updated regularly.Identify and communicate better ways of producing quality products.Implement and maintain Quality Control procedures.Assess resource requirements in accordance with demand, while planning for growth/changes.Budget management, such as parts purchasing, carrying costs.Conduct regular risk analysis for the Production Department, and report.Provide training in procedures and expectations.Manage weekly production meetings, ensure team leader requests are considered, requested actions responded to and prioritised and provide feedback to the team leaders.Ensure H&S objectives are met, and issues discussed at staff meetings.Ensure any licences, permits and consents relevant to production and required by the company are current, maintained and complied with.Oversee the maintaining, configuring and servicing of production machines.Keep production room and storage areas well organised and correctly labelled.Oversee servicing products and identify root causes to improve quality.Ensure any production problems are resolved, efficiently and effectively.Manage production staff with good humour and fairness.Attend regular meetings with Chiptech Management Team.Complete Monthly Management Report.Any other tasks as required.Authorities:To stop production or despatch of any product pending review.Authority to spend on approved parts when current forecast drives ordering.Identify resourcing gaps and interview new production staff for hiring approval.Issue warnings to production staff pending a formal review.Accept maintenance work and contracts on behalf of Chiptech.Requirements:The candidate must be a NZ resident.5+ years in an electronic manufacturing Production Manager role.Good references.What we offer: Great working environment, with a good team culture.
