AFFCO supplies the world with New Zealand’s finest premium beef and lamb products for all to experience and enjoy. We are currently seeking a passionate Production Manager to join our site leadership team at Waikato’s largest beef plant based 5 minutes north of Hamilton in Horotiu.
This position is an integral part of the plant management team and has functional relationships with employees, livestock procurement, slaughter, cold stores, MPI, Asure Quality, compliance, plant administration and asset management. The primary objective of the role is to assist the Plant Manager in the oversight of the processing of stock to company, customer and regulatory standards whilst maximising the plant's profitability, yeilds and efficiency. The role is also critical to the supervision and motivation of the plant workforce and requires exceptional skills in relationship building and man-management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Consistent monitoring of processing quality plant-wide to ensure high standards at all times
Solid knowledge of cuts/processing techniques to assist other staff and help maintain benchmarks
Analysing information to recognise areas for improvement and then translating this to practical enhancements/solutions in processing departments
Ensuring that labour resource is utilised for optimum efficiency and throughput
Making sure that all health and safety procedures and regulations are adhered to throughout the production process
Guiding Supervisory teams through change and providing leadership and direction to staff Continuously improving standards and profitability
Previous experience in a meat processing environment at a Supervisory or Management level is highly preferred. The right candidate will be highly organised, self-motivated and passionate about delivering excellent results.
