The team
The Logistics Tower works collaboratively with the domain owner, Defence Logistics Command (DLC) and NZDF Single Services (Army, Navy and Air Force), to design, deliver and manage products that enable the NZDF’s logistics function. The Tower is responsible for sustaining current state technology and delivering and evolving the NZDF’s future state enterprise logistics capability.
The role
As a Product Owner, you will work closely with the Product Manager Logistics, Architect and other Product Owners to manage planning, delivery and changes being completed by Product teams within the Logistics Tower. Your will be responsible to ensure your teams support the priorities agreed with the business that will deliver the NZDF's vision and strategy. The Product owner will ensure the team focus on delivery of agreed output and will derive a continued pursuit of excellence within your team, within the wider service portfolio directorate and across the CIS Branch Product Owner cohort. They will define the technology roadmaps for the products within the Logistics Tower, prioritise and de-conflict operational and technical requirements in collaboration with the Product Manager and the business, and manage the overall delivery processes.
Technical skills
Ideally the candidate would have knowledge of or exposure to a combination of the following:Clearly understand current priorities for the Logistic Tower, and ensure the overall roadmap and activities completed within each Sprint and Programme Increment will achieve the agreed outcomes;
Ensure a culture of ongoing relentless improvement is reflected in the team roadmaps;
Understanding how technology will support overall delivery of the agreed objectives;
Understand future priorities in the strategic roadmap (owned by the Product Manager) to maximise efficiencies in work and continually allow delivery outcomes to be maximised;
Understanding detailed integration of new functionality into existing complex environments and landscapes;
Have exposure to Application Decommissioning and Consolidation, including planning for the approach to system, data and user migrations across platforms and technologies;
A broad based cloud and on premise software environment experience, including experience with SAP Logistics modules or other large ERP systems;
Collaborative interpersonal style, including clear experience in managing customer expectations;
Ability to work within a matrix team model, especially regarding the ability to flow to work through expanding and reducing team numbers dependent of prioritised workloads.
