The team:
Within our newly created Enterprise Products and Systems (EPS) team you will work in Platforms product portfolio group which delivers core compute infrastructure platform services that are the foundation of the Defence Information Environment (DIE).
We are looking for a Product Owner for our Platforms Technology Tenancy Product Team. This role supports the team which delivers modern infrastructure compute platform services (e.g. cloud platforms and compute) that are the foundation of the Defence Information Environment (DIE) and as the Product Owner you will manage the Feature Backlog and associated functions that support planning and prioritisation. The Tenancy Team manages and supports the platform that provides both non-production and production environments, as well as key workflow and management tools, for the purposes of testing, simulation and development.
The Platforms portfolio has overarching accountability for all compute infrastructure products, within the domain, including the sourcing of IT products and systems as required.
The others elements within this group are:Database Platforms;
Compute and Storage (Public and Private, cutting edge computing) Platforms;
ERP Platforms;
Middleware Platforms;
Website & Container Hosting Platforms; and
Geospatial Platforms.
The role:
As a Product Owner, you will act as the voice of the customer and understanding user’s needs. You will demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement as well as a strong understanding of your domain - providing direction and leadership to the product team. You will also work with your fellow Product Owners and Product Managers across domains to ensure product development is aligned to NZDF strategy and vision to ensure that mutually beneficial goals are achieved.
Technical skills:
Experience in, or knowledge of:Working in large complex organisations;
Excellent Stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills;
Identifying opportunities for business process improvement;
Strong team leadership and development skills;
Understanding of the Portfolio and Programme business planning processes and how this relates to roadmap development and delivery;
IT change management (ITIL);
Commercial management experience.
