Join a newly established team, working in a unique and complex environment using modern scaled agile ways of working to deliver technology solutions to support internal customers across the NZDF.
The team:
The Logistics Tower works collaboratively with the domain owner, Defence Logistics Command (DLC) and NZDF single services, to design, deliver and manage products that enable the NZDF’s logistics function. The Tower is responsible for sustaining current state technology and delivering and evolving the NZDF’s future state enterprise logistics capability.
The role:
As a Product Manager, you will have overarching responsibility for all products within the Logistics Tower to ensure they support the delivery of the NZDF’s vision and strategy. The Product Manager’s responsibilities will embrace both strategic and operational activities. They will define the technology vision and roadmaps for the products within the Logistics Tower (inclusive of SAP Logistics Modules), prioritise and deconflict organisational requirements in collaboration with relevant ICS teams and business owners and remove roadblocks to product delivery.
Technical skills:
Ideally you will have knowledge of or exposure to a combination of the following:
Clearly understand high level strategic goal setting and how to clearly document these, using business language, in collaboration with the identified business owners
Convert high level strategic goals into a technology roadmap
Understanding how technology will support overall delivery of the strategy, including being able to articulate this in business language
Understanding integration of new functionality into existing complex environments and landscapes
Have exposure to Application Consolidation and Decommissioning activities, including gathering buy-in from complex business areas
A broad based cloud and on premise software environment experience, including experience with SAP Logistics modules or other large ERP systems
A collaborative interpersonal styles, including clear experience in managing difficult customers and customer expectations.
Additional skills:Experience in, or knowledge of:
Presentation skills
Identifying opportunities for business process improvement
Capacity management
IT change management
Commercial management
Strong team leadership and development skills
Understanding of the portfolio and programme business planning processes and how this relates to roadmap development and delivery
Understanding of ICT change approaches, including collaborating with the business to optimise training, communications and change activities

The majority of roles in the CIS branch within NZDF require a high level security clearance at either Secret or Top Secret Level. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for the high level security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last ten years, ORis a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last ten years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
Please note we also have a small number of roles requiring Top Secret Special clearance. These roles require fifteen years continuous residence in the above countries.
