This is a full time permanent (civ) position The teamThe Business Support Tower works collaboratively with a range of domain owners, including finance, estate and infrastructure, enterprise portfolio management and ICS, to design, deliver and manage products that enable these business functions within NZDF. The Tower is responsible for sustaining current state technology, and delivering and evolving the NZDF’s future state capability across each of these domains.The roleAs a Product Manager, you will have overarching responsibility for all products within the Business Support Tower to ensure they support the delivery of the NZDF's vision and strategy. The Product Manager's responsibilities will embrace both strategic and operational activities. They will define the technology vision and roadmaps for the products within the Business Support Tower, prioritise and deconflict organisational requirements in collaboration with relevant ICS teams and business owners (e.g. Finance, CIS Br, Defence Estate and Infrastructure, etc.) and remove roadblocks to product delivery.Technical skillsIdeally you will have knowledge of or exposure to a combination of the following:
Clearly understand high level strategic goal setting and how to clearly document these, using business language, in collaboration with the identified business owners;
Convert high level strategic goals into a technology roadmap;
Understanding how technology will support overall delivery of the strategy, including being able to articulate this in business language;
Understanding integration of new functionality into existing complex environments and landscapes;
Have exposure to Application Consolidation and Decommissioning activities, including gathering buy-in from complex business areas;
A broad based cloud and on premise software environment experience, including experience with SAP Finance modules or other large ERP systems;
A Collaborative interpersonal style, including clear experience in managing difficult customers and customer expectations.
Additional skillsExperience in, or knowledge of:
Presentation skills;
Identifying opportunities for business process improvement;
Capacity management;
IT change management;
Commercial management;
Strong team leadership and development skills;
Understanding of the portfolio and programme business planning processes and how this relates to roadmap development and delivery;
Understanding of ICT change approaches, including collaborating with the business to optimise training, communications and change activities.
