Product Designer - Casual Clothing

We are looking for a recent Fashion or Product Design graduate to design and oversee the manufacture of a range of technical and sustainable casual clothing that compliments our core range of technical Hunting and Fly fishing products.
We are looking for someone who knows their way around pattern making, garment construction and technical clothing performance in a wilderness environment.
Ideally you will be a keen hunter, fly fisher, tramper, climber, mountain biker, or outdoor enthusiast of some kind with a passion for sustainability. You will be expected to: - Develop a range of concepts based on the brief from the CEO and head of Product Design. - Develop these concepts into resolved products. - Prepare specifications for our manufacturers. - Work directly with our manufacturers to develop samples and hit target costs. - Oversee production. - Quality control the finished product range. You will need: - To be a recent graduate of either a Fashion design or Product design tertiary program. - A solid understanding of garment construction, pattern making and technical clothing and fabrics. - Be passionate and involved in an outdoor recreation of some sort, hunting and fly fishing are our core areas of business. - To be competent with the Adobe suite of software. - Have good communication skills and be able to work with offshore manufacturers. - Hit deadlines set by the CEO and Head of Product Design. - To be able to travel overseas occasionally for product development.
