Product Architect (12 Month Ftc)

Product Architect (12 Month Ftc)
Company:

Xero Nz

Details of the offer

Xero is a beautiful, easy-to-use platform that helps small businesses and their accounting and bookkeeping advisors grow and thrive.

At Xero, our purpose is to make life better for people in small business, their advisors, and communities around the world. This purpose sits at the centre of everything we do. We support our people to do the best work of their lives so that they can help small businesses succeed through better tools, information and connections. Because when they succeed they make a difference, and when millions of small businesses are making a difference, the world is a more beautiful place.

Right now we are looking for an innovative Product Architect to join our Financial Services Product Team on a 12 Month Fixed Term.

As a Product Architect, the focus of your role will be to contribute to the technical vision of the Invoicing portfolio and guide our development teams to bring that vision to life, enabling them to ship high-quality features quickly with confidence and accuracy.

What you'll do:
You'll work within the Financial Services Architecture team to define Xero's architecture strategy and long-term direction within our Invoicing portfolio.
You'll build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as the Development Manager and Product Manager, to ensure a shared understanding of the business requirements while championing the non-functionals, architecture guidelines and strategies.
Drawing on your own experiences and based on good engineering practices, you'll guide and influence the development teams to design, build and deliver high-quality features quickly, with confidence and accuracy, balancing long-term direction with current needs.
You'll work with the development teams to identify technical debt and related issues for prioritisation and resolution. With the Product Manager, you'll define and prioritise the technical roadmap within the product backlog.
You'll look to improve our development practices and processes, striving for excellence, by proactively bringing new ideas into Xero.
You'll facilitate and lead discussions to ensure we have the right tools available for the job.
You'll use your wealth of experience and knowledge to provide training, coaching and mentoring where needed.

What you'll bring with you:
Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify and articulate highly technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership ability to create, articulate, mentor and advocate the vision and technical and semantic direction for a product and systems architecture.
An innovative and positive team player with a 'can do' attitude.
Good time management and prioritisation skills.
Experience in designing service-oriented architecture solutions.
Good understanding and experience measuring and designing for non-functionals, like reliability, availability, security, maintainability, performance and scalability.
Familiarity with multiple software development methodologies and styles.
Good understanding of systems design, ideally with Software as a Service Products.
Software development skills, ideally C# or other Object Oriented Programming languages.
Relational databases and knowledge of NoSQL databases.
Good understanding of AWS.
Data and Statistical Analysis skills.
Exposure to the FinTech, Financial Services or Invoicing space will also be an advantage.

We're looking for innovative leaders who love to collaborate and work with teams to deliver solutions to tens of thousands of users globally with each release, who have the tenacity to take on the relentless pace of FinTech disruption within a supportive, outcome-oriented product culture!
