Picture Co. is hiring an experienced Producer.
We are a boutique production company based in Melbourne, specialising in commercial content and independent film production. In our digital world where the quick, unconsidered image is abundant, we put our heart and soul into every image we capture.
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for production, know the industry, know the people and know numbers. You will be responsible for the smooth and seamless execution of Picture Co commercial productions, and accountable for all aspects of the production process, from budgeting and expenditure tracking, through to pre-production, casting, production/shoot management and post supervision. You are able to remain calm, focused and maintain your attention to detail under pressure. You are an excellent communicator with a can do attitude who always aims to go above and beyond to get the job done and bring the best out in your crew. You will have a solid professional network in the Melbourne production scene - both clients and freelancers.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years relevant industry experience with a production company or agency
Solid professional network in Melbourne
Technical knowledge of Australia screen production industry standards/compliance/processes
Technical knowledge of broadcast standards for TVC, CAD and Ad stream
Experience production managing shoots
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines
Polished communications skills for both client facing and internal scenarios
Strong logistical and problem solving skills to solve situations and keep production on track
Ability to find creative solutions to tight budgets
Financial acumen, and track record of meeting budget and profitability targets
Knowledge of Mac operating systems, and MS Office software
Current Australian drivers license
Key Responsibilities:
In your role, you would work across a range of short and long form commercial content projects, and responsibilities would include:
1. Producing
Pre Production Management
Scope and budget projects
Develop and manage project timelines
Financial negotiation, management and bookings/liaison for crew/cast
Safety and Risk assessment and plan development
Consultation with Picture Co insurer as required
Pre Production meeting booklets, call sheets
Pre Production meeting management
Australia screen production industry standards / legal requirements permits / permissions planned for / acquired as required
Production Management
Compliance with Australia screen production industry standards, legal requirements permits / permissions
Crew briefings
Production kept on schedule
Safety plan implementation
Post Production Management
Quality control / sign off all outgoing material, including meeting broadcast standards for TVC, CAD and Ad stream where required
Financial reconciliation
2. Client/Account Management
End to end Client liaison - from brief through to presentation of project assets
Develop key documents - quotes, treatments, pre production booklets
Invoicing and follow ups
3. Project Management
Production planning across all Picture Co commercial projects to meet deadlines
Weekly WIP management
Maximise outputs from permanent people resources, and identify requirements for freelance resource
Financial negotiation, management and bookings/liaison for freelance resource
Monthly financial reporting skills
Monthly forecasting skills
Adhoc Responsibilities:
New business development
Editing (not essential, but desirable)
Creative/script development for direct to brand clients
Consultation on key Picture Co initiatives
This Melbourne based role is full time with a base salary of $75,000 $85,000 depending on experience, plus commission on new business sourced.
