Key Responsibilities: This role leads the forecasting, demand and supply planning, and packaging and consumables inventory management, enabling the production teams to meet their commercial requirements and assist them in maximising efficiency.
You will be a key conductor and link within the business – negotiating cost-effective deals and contracts with suppliers.
A key part of this role is for you to cleverly balance the variables of customer demand and orders alongside the availability of raw ingredients, capacity and customer requirements.
Engagement across their operations, sales, R&D, and quality and compliance teams.
Qualifications: Knowledge of market access and customer requirements will be important.
You must have strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with external suppliers from across New Zealand and around the world.
This opportunity will be suited to a seasoned procurement specialist who can self-manage and really take the lead in developing the procurement strategy for this growing company.
Ideally, you will be tertiary qualified and have experience within a pet food or food manufacturing business, otherwise you will need to relate well to the broad range of raw materials and market challenges associated with exporting food-based products.
You must be meticulous, analytical, precise, and data-driven, and your familiarity with key ERP/SRM systems and planning concepts will see you held in high regard.
You will be confident in leading and influencing people across the business to further drive performance through effective procurement strategies.
