The Procurement Coordinator will assist in setting up the procurement function at EIT and bring records and processes up to date as the function transfers back from the National Office. This role is a fixed term contract offering flexibility of FTE. It involves providing procurement and contract administration, coordination, and assistance in support of the Finance Director. The position is crucial for ensuring timely, budget-conscious procurement with appropriate documentation, enabling the success of EIT's procurement function through analytical and creative input, initiative, and acumen.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $70,000 and $100,000, dependent on skills and experience.
The Procurement Coordinator is based in our Hawkes Bay, EIT | Te Pukenga campus, reporting to the Finance Director and will be responsible for:
* Providing procurement support, assistance, and expertise to leaders, managers, and kaimahi on all procurement areas, including process and policy requirements.
* Delivering core procurement administrative and coordination functions, including assisting with the development of purchasing guidelines and establishing relationships with suppliers.
* Managing procurement records in accordance with legislation, policy, and best practice, including documentation of decisions and ensuring electronic copies of all current contracts are held in one place.
* Coordinating procurement-related processes such as requests for proposals (RFP) in support of managers.
* Supporting procurement panels with documentation and administration as required, and acting as a key contact in facilitating and communicating with suppliers and vendors.

To be successful in this role you will have:
* Experience providing procurement administration and coordination.
* Understanding of the application of procurement frameworks, policies, standards, and delivery.
* Excellent people engagement skills as well as strong written and verbal communication.
* Self-motivation and the ability to apply initiative.
* A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Business Management, may be an advantage.
