Our Procurement team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to help transform the profile of procurement at New Plymouth District Council as we increase our proactive maturity in this function.
In this varied role, you will work in partnership with business units and leaders to ensure that effective and efficient procurement practices and processes are adopted, showcasing your ability to build strong relationships. You will be the go-to for specialist advice and support in all things procurement related, while you promote and guide business units on best practice procurement processes. You will be proactive and strategic in your approach, advocating opportunities for innovative solutions where possible, including in the technology space.
To be successful in this role, you will have at least three years' proven procurement experience, some of which will ideally have involved complex/high risk procurement in a varied environment and will be working towards a CIPS membership. You must be commercially-savvy and have experience with procurement and contract documentation. Strong communication and computer skills and the ability to multi-task are essential, and a positive attitude and sense of humour are always appreciated. Knowledge and application of the government rules of sourcing will be advantegous.
