The Role
This role provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Procurement Advisor to join the newly created Commercial Team. You will ensure that goods and services sourced deliver value, risks are managed and best practice standards for procurement systems and processes are reached. You will become a trusted advisor on all things pertaining to procurement, and actively encouraging a strategic, commercial conversation.
This is a fast paced role dealing with all areas of the procurement cycle from planning to contract management support. It is a fantastic opportunity to work on unique and interesting projects within a government organisation such as: construction, scientific surveys, weed and pest control, fresh water and land management.
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
Experience with government procurement policy, rules and guidelines.
End-to-end procurement experience within a public sector environment preferred.
Experience providing sound procurement advice across a range of stakeholders and categories.
Well-developed communication and influencing skills with a strong customer support focus.
Strong analytical and advanced excel skills.
The ability to adapt in a complex and dynamic environment.
A minimum of 5 years' procurement experience preferred.
Relevant Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualification and/or tertiary degree level qualification in procurement, sustainability management, business management or equivalent.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and organised, reporting and contributing to the effectiveness of the Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
