Ko ta matou mahi - Our Role
Our national design team is growing, and as such we are now looking to hire aPrincipal Urban Designer,to be based from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.
As a Principal you will provide leadership in the design assessment and validation of redevelopment opportunities and acquisitions within the Kainga Ora portfolio. The focus of this role is to lead the delivery of spatial feasibility studies, masterplans, design briefs, design management and specialist design advice for significant capital redevelopment programmes, projects and market acquisitions to enable alignment with the corporations Asset Management Strategy (AMS) and Regional Action Plans (RAP) of Kainga Ora.
Nga pumanawatanga ou - What you will bring
In adding to your tertiary qualification in Architecture or Landscape Architecture and post graduate in Urban Design, you will also demonstrate:
Experience in the preparation of urban design reports and /or policy and preparation of graphic material (e.g. quick hand sketches, concept drawings, plans and sections)
Experience in a range of public and private contexts including urban design and place-making projects
Strong technical graphic and writing skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective networks and key relationships
A knack for problem solving and innovative solutions
Passion for working in the public domain in the public interest
High degree of initiative, personal motivation and self-management
Flexible, adaptive and proactive manner
