The State Services Commission (SSC) leads the public sector to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders.
The Public Service Fale is a newly created team working across a diverse and ambitious work programme in support of Pacific Public Service Commissioners. It is a new business unit at the New Zealand State Services Commission.
As a Principal/Senior Advisor (Human Resources) you will support the Manager, Pacific Programmes by collaboratively scoping new initiatives then advising on HR policies through co-designing, developing and delivering. As a member of the programmes team you will connect, engage and influence Pacific public service commissions and through an understanding of Pacific needs and priorities you will facilitate strategic thinking with regard to solutions, and manage the delivery of support services.
The ideal candidate will have
A heart for the Pacific and will be able to demonstrate this in a way that shows an understanding of Pacific cultures, context, and practices.
Sophisticated interpersonal skills and the ability to develop trusted and empathetic relationships with Pacific Public Service Commissioners and NZ public sector stakeholders.
The ability to scope new initiatives, collaboratively approach design and implementation.
The confidence to draw on the expertise of the team and the wider HR community.
The ability to gather information from a range of sources, including academic thinking and international best practice, to develop advice.

This position usually pays between $92,560 to $124,485 for a Senior Advisor and $121,380 to $149,940 for a Principal Advisor depending on skills and experience.
