If you have extensive experience of working across strategy, planning, performance and governance, reporting in to Senior Leaders and are looking for your next contracting opportunity, then this could be a great opportunity to support a complex organisation through a large change programme.

We are currently working with agovernment entity, looking for an experienced Principal Advisor to play a key role across strategy and governance, providing key organisational strategic planning and decision making, by playing a key role in contributing to the annual budgeting process within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
Support and enhance the use of costings and financial recommendations in Cabinet papers. Provide expert advice in relation to budget preparation and documentation, eg. identifying emerging pressures and opportunities for initiatives. Coordinate information to Parliamentary Select Committees for the estimates and financial review, relating to budget specific questions. Provide coaching and guidance to the wider strategy and governance team in relation to the budget process. Provide analytical advice and insight in to budget development, new initiatives and proposals.
Key Requirements:
A strong understanding of government policy, budget, accountability and appropriation processes. Sound knowledge of government processes, such as ministerial and cabinet roles, parliamentary processes, budget and public sector management skills. Extensive experience in supporting organisational strategic and business planning processes, alongside issue analysis and report writing. Strong project management and presentation skills.
