Top Energy has operations throughout the Far North. The Company is privately owned by a power consumer trust and employs staff in Geothermal Generation and Electricity Distribution.
We are seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician for our Electricity Distribution business, to be a key participant in the development and delivery of the Preventive Maintenance activities.
This position will report to the Preventive Maintenance Team Leader and can be based at either our Kerikeri or Kaitaia depot. This role would suit a person with a hands-on approach who is comfortable sharing time between the office and the field. The applicant will be safety orientated, practically minded and will likely be someone who has worked in the field as a technician/engineer and is now looking for a role change in a semi-office environment.
Key areas of focus will be to:
Develop and update the criteria for assessing the condition and reliability of network equipment;
Train employees in the application of the condition assessment standards;
Assist in the delivery of the Preventive Maintenance Plan;

To succeed in this role, you will have:
A relevant tertiary (Diploma or better) qualification;
A minimum of 5 years' experience working in the electrical distribution industry;
Proficiency with electrical design principles;
Experience using software to interrogate and analyse systems;
A desire to spend time both in the field and the office to collate the necessary information;
The ability to identify gaps and research solutions for integration into Preventive Maintenance standards;
The ability to create documentation in an easy to follow and informative format;
The ability to lead small groups in a training environment;
A solution orientated work ethic to lead the development and implementation of solutions;
The ability to participate where necessary in the hands-on delivery of projects;
You must hold a clean, and current Full Drivers Licence.
