Health Hawke's Bay Hastings Central, Hawkes Bay 12 Month Fixed Term About us Health Hawke's Bay – Te Oranga o Te Matau-a-Maui is the region's single Primary Health Organisation (PHO), covering a population of approximately 167,500. We aim to improve health outcomes and life expectancy across Hawke's Bay, particularly for Maori and other under-served groups. Our mahi focuses on supporting communities, whanau and providers to achieve sustainable health gains, and equitable health outcomes. The team, programme, and role The Maori Health Team's purpose is to improve the cultural responsiveness of primary health care in Te Matau a Maui, including through 'Te Kura Nui', Health Hawke's Bay's Cultural Responsiveness Programme. Our mahi includes developing and implementing initiatives that enable whanau, hapu, iwi Maori to achieve long-term health and social outcomes through Health Hawke's Bay's vision of Whanau ora, Hapori ora (healthy families, healthy communities). The Rongoa Maori service offers free access to Rongoa Maori for Maori and Pasifika people in Te Matau-a-Maui. The Rongoa Maori Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the delivery of the Rongoa Maori service. The role supports general practice, hauora providers, rongoa practitioners and whanau accessing the service. Responsibilities also include: General and referral related administration Promoting the Rongoa Maori service to our community and General Practice Supporting the coordination of the Long-Term Condition (LTC) case study About you To be considered for this role, you will have need to have previous experience in administration and coordination. Ideally you will have: At least 2 years' experience in a similar role, e.g., health navigator, kaiawhina, community support worker, advocate Knowledge of and interest in Rongoa Maori Knowledge of and experience in Maori models of health Have lived experience within Te Ao Maori, iwi, hapu and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application. Experience in promoting health programmes A genuine interest in improving health outcomes for Maori and have knowledge of and experience in Maori models of health Proven administration and coordination experience Good interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to work with a diverse range of people Have good communication skills, fluency in Te Reo Maori would be an advantage Excellent organisational and time management skills Be computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office 365.
