Details of the offer

This is your opportunity to plan and shape your work and your life in a piece of paradise.

Tasman is home to some of the clearest water in the world (Te Waikoropupu springs), iconic beaches (Abel Tasman) and some of the best water quality in New Zealand! The district has gained an enviable reputation as a desirable lifestyle location and is experiencing high rates of urban growth and tourism.

With the additional demand being placed on our resources, we are seeking a suitably qualified person who is keen to broaden their planning career within a progressive unitary authority thats at a pivotal stage in the development of its freshwater policy.

Based in Richmond, you will have the collegial support of a team of experienced Environmental Policy Planners, ideally you will have a minimum of three to five years' experience with a proven track record in freshwater planning and policy development. The primary focus will be on fresh water, however our diverse portfolio of policy issues means you will be involved in a range of policy topics within natural resources, including interface with our territorial responsibilities.

We envisage you will be someone who has the ability to see the 'bigger picture', and of course be a great communicator, have a sound working knowledge of the policy lifecycle and the RMA, while also understanding responsibilities and functions of a local authority.

Work life balance is also important to us so if you join our team, you'll get not only to enjoy a fabulous climate and lifestyle, you'll also have the time to appreciate it!
