About the role
The Operational Capability Team is responsible for developing national operational policies and procedures to guide our service delivery ensuring that operational and specialist staff have the appropriate tools, equipment and support necessary to perform at the highest levels.
You'll deliver recommendation and guidance specifically around the continuity of operational policies, standard operational procedures and guidelines. Developing simple and sensible ways that help us move towards principle-based procedures and being less prescriptive, by creating easy to follow guidelines and policies that the regions can interpret and utilise in order to preserve our readiness and capability.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will understand contemporary requirements relating to less prescriptive procedures and can translate operational requirements into technical documentation
You'll bring the following:
A related tertiary qualification or significant experience in a similar role
Fire and Emergency New Zealand or similar fire service operational experience
An understanding of public sector standards
The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships both within a national and regional team environment
