Details of the offer

Businesses in Akaroa are looking for plumbing and drainlaying apprentices right now. We need practical, motivated, dedicated people who thrive on a variety of work. If you already have construction or plumbing-related experience, all the better.
Earn a steady apprentice wage while you learn through a combination of on-job, real-life training and classroom study.
If you are accepted as a Masterlink apprentice, we’ll place you with an experienced host business committed to seeing you become an excellent tradesperson. On successful completion of your apprenticeship (which can take up to 4 years), you will gain a National Certificate in Plumbing and Drainlaying.
As a Masterlink apprentice, you will be:
set up with basic safety gear and a starter tool kit
given an annual allowance for overalls and boots
earning a steady wage while getting onsite training
paid when you go on a series of 1-week block courses during your apprenticeship
provided with a Masterlink mentor to support you throughout your studies – keeping you on track to qualify
backed by a trusted and well-known organisation – Masterlink is 100% owned by Master Plumbers
signed up for Master Plumbers Apprentice Membership providing access to discounts, learning opportunities and scholarships
supported by a dyslexia friendly employer.

As the only apprenticeship programme in NZ specialising in the plumbing industry, we are proud of the high number of our apprentices who successfully complete their qualifications.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency and be living, or planning to live, in the Akaroa area. Building (including labouring) or plumbing experience is preferable, but people with other relevant hands-on, practical, outdoor work experience may also be considered.
You need to be physically fit and hold (at least) a clean restricted NZ driver licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle. Successful candidates will undertake a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and Masterlink assessments.
Visit our website or talk to our Recruitment Coordinator, Kate Williams, for all you need to know about the benefits of Masterlink and how the apprenticeship works.
