Platform Engineer - Data & Ai

This role is part of the Data/AI TechOps function at dataengine and will be closely working with the wider team in providing platform design, deployment & maintenance which are internal and external.
You will collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that align with business goals while adhering to best practices in technology and infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain scalable platforms leveraging cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Pulumi).Develop CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth delivery and integration workflows in accordance with DataOps engineering teams.Implement platform solutions with a focus on reliability, security, and performance in relation to defined Architectures.You will be an integral part of the delivery teams which are focused on solution delivery for customer facing and internal projects.Collaborate with customer architecture teams and business leaders to develop master systems, cloud, and platforms that integrate strategic thinking, delivery, and support across the organization.Translate architecture and designs to engineer solutions to host proof-of-concepts, prototypes, non-production and production solutions.Collaborate with designers and product managers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Provide input to the solution architectures with best practices and engineering guidance based on industry recommendations.Help define options papers for solutions and platforms.Fulfil all legislative and company policy requirements.Have an active involvement in health and safety in the workplace.Key Requirements:3 years of IT & Cloud computing industry experience (Azure, AWS, GCP & etc).1 year of platform engineering experience (must have).Certified individual from Azure or AWS is preferred.Must be proficient in one or more infrastructure-as-code technologies such as ARM Templates, CloudFormation, Pulumi or Terraform.Expertise in container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, AKS, EKS or GKE.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to code, infrastructure, and deployments.Monitor application performance and identify areas for improvement.A pragmatic thinker who aligns with our values, avoiding over-engineering solutions and reviewing the current state before proposing solutions.You must demonstrate versatility in learning technologies to be technology agnostic based on demand.Must have an always learning attitude.Basic understanding and working knowledge on relational and non-relational databases.Team-oriented and collaborative working style with clients and within the organisation.Growth mindset, positive attitude & strong interest in solving client challenges, adapting to a changing work environment, and dealing with new issues.Stay up-to-date on the latest web development and DevOps trends and best practices.Excellent writing and storytelling skills.Must be based in New Zealand.Travel to the customer site (on-demand).Here's a Taste of What's on Offer at dataengine:Opportunity to solve real-world business problems.Collaborative and supportive work environment.Be at the forefront of data science innovation in a dynamic startup environment.Work on a variety of challenging and impactful projects across different industries.Opportunity to learn and grow your skillset with the latest technologies.Continuous learning and development opportunities.Weekly fresh fruit and snacks, monthly industry-led lunches, and active staff activities.Be part of a company shaping the future of data-driven solutions.If you are a passionate and talented platform engineer who is excited about making a real impact, we encourage you to apply!About dataengine:dataengine, a New Zealand-based leader in data solutions, empowers businesses to unlock the hidden value within their data and achieve true transformation.
