Plastic Ocean Pollution Solutions Educator

We’re looking for an empowered and passionate educator to join us as our new Plastic Ocean Pollution Solutions educator in Canterbury. The position is for a casual based employment with flexible hours to deliver our POPS curriculum to schools throughout Canterbury. We have funding for the delivery of 16 workshops, the position will also involve participating in community engagements.
We’re offering remuneration at above the living wage plus all expenses to be covered

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with world leaders on plastic ocean pollution in delivering solutions to our communities and youth.

Week Starting February 10th

Requirements:
Experience in teaching and group management (not required to be qualified)

Knowledge and Passion for plastic ocean pollution in particular micro-plastics or have a keenness and willingness to self inform

Available for flexible hours throughout Terms 1 & 2 – Must be available for Feb 29th

Own vehicle and drivers license

A responsible and professional person able to comfortably complete an NZ Police Check

Eligible for employment in New Zealand

Expectations & Responsibilities:
Investment and contribution to coordination & planning of in-school & community workshops

Transport self, set up anddeliveryof in-school workshops

Transport self, set up anddeliveryof community workshops

Good communication skills to liaise with schools/community groups and Programme Director

Follow up admin for recording purposes and feedback sessions

Responsibility of allocated equipment and resources

Flexible and reliable in nature to work with adaptive schedules during week days and weekends

A dedication of voluntary hours to upskill and inform yourself on our work and philosophies
