Required for August 2020
We are seeking an enthusiastic PE Teacher and Lead Swimming Coach to join our thriving and fast growing private school in Usa River, between Arusha and Moshi. The appointment provides the opportunity to teach exceptionally motivated pupils in a well-resourced school with excellent teaching facilities and in a truly magical setting!
A willingness to participate fully in a busy extra-curricular programme is essential as is a desire to become part of a lively and committed team.
The role
Teach children games & sports to all year groups
Coordinate the school Swimming Curriculum and the planning of it accordingly
Teach PE throughout the school
Lead and deliver swimming/coaching sessions to pupils and swim squads as required
Arrange swimming galas
Liaise with and support any other staff connected with the department and offer advice as required
Integrate assessment effectively into teaching and learning within the subject
Ensure the needs of all children are met, enabling all children to have the opportunity to reach their potential within the subject
Attend parent evenings/meetings, write reports and perform pastoral duties as required by the Headteacher
Plan and implement school sports events
Ensure teams are excellently prepared to compete in local & regional school sports fixtures and to attend such events, some which may be at the weekend
Run afterschool/break time sports clubs/training as directed by the Headteacher
Teach a supplementary subject and be a form teacher if required
Carry out any duties as reasonably directed by the Headteacher
Teach any required subject to other groups and classes, as reasonably required
Maintain full and informative records efficiently
Document planning for the short, medium and long term
Support colleagues as necessary and cooperatively to work as part of a team, attending all meetings and INSETs
Undertake duties before, during and after school as required
Participate in co-curricular school activities including clubs and residential field trips
Attend school functions
Be committed to the personal development of the pupils and take responsibility for their welfare and social well-being
Develop effective professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
Keep the Headteacher fully informed of any significant developments concerning any pupil
Any other duties reasonably required
