Full job description Casual opportunity for qualified or trainee phlebotomists * Grow your career within a small experienced team in a busy diagnostic facility! * Familiarity with laboratory processes would be an advantageMo te tunga | About the role You will work alongside 3 other phlebotomist - s based in the Blood Test Service on the Te Nikau campus. You will need to be flexible to accommodate our clients including home visits or collections in their car. On occasion the Te Nikau team provides cover for the Buller Phlebotomy team. A driver - s licence is essential. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including communicating with service users, blood collection in the Blood Test Service and hospital wards, processing specimens, data entry and responding to queries. You will be required to service wards in Te Nikau and perform community visits to Rest Homes and private residences. You - ll be passionate about providing a high-quality service and be able to build trusted relationships with patients and their whanau. In this role, you will be responsible for: Providing a high-quality service to clients * Collecting blood samples from inpatients and outpatients within the service * Registering samples into the Delphic Laboratory Information System * Carrying out processes required for the pre-analytical processing of samples * Interpretation and input of request forms * Checking of data for accuracy and information * Liaising with staff, patients and referrers effectively * Maintaining knowledge and on-going education in PhlebotomyNga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience Your skills will include: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Bring proactive and taking initiative * The ability to pick up and use technology and software systems * Registration with the Medical Sciences Council is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
