We have one permanent and one fixed term position available for experienced Pharmacy Technicians to join our Medicines Supply and Logistics team at Auckland City Hospital. The fixed term role is for about 11 months starting asap to cover a secondment.
Both roles are full time and duties will include individual patient dispensing of registered, unregistered, investigational medicines, compliance and compounded medicines, extemporaneous compounding, supplying controlled drugs to clinical areas, repacking medicines and ordering compounded products from 3rd party suppliers. You will be supported by a team of experienced pharmacists, pharmacy accuracy checking technicians, pharmacy technicians and assistants. A full induction, training and validation programme and ongoing support will be provided.

About the department
Our Pharmacy department is an innovative and exciting place to work. We employ over 100 staff including those working within two retail pharmacies, Aseptic Production Unit and a flagship inpatient service. We serve over 1200 inpatient beds. Our guiding principle is to put the patient first in everything we do. We are committed to do and be our best, to value and support all staff, to work together with trust, respect and honesty, and display commitment and accountability to provide a high quality service to our patients.

About you
You will be an NZQA level 5 pharmacy technician who is efficient, accurate and helpful and respectful to staff, patients and visitors. Enthusiastic team work, excellent English communication skills, effective time management skills, flexibility, as well as basic computer skills would make you the ideal candidate for this role. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience in a busy hospital dispensary and are competent in ePharmacy, Toniq and automated systems such as repacking and blister packing robots.
