Permanent/ Fixed Term Respiratory/ General Medicine Physician Position Available In Nz (North Island)

The Position

We are looking for a Respiratory Physician to assist in the provision of specialist secondary care services. This position would be suitable for an experienced or a newly qualified specialist. This is a new position and is additional to two experienced Respiratory Physicians. The position involves the provision of general respiratory inpatient and outpatient services including fibreoptic bronchoscopy, and reporting on sleep studies and respiratory lung function tests. Knowledge and ability to manage cystic fibrosis patients and any experience in the supervision of respiratory function laboratory is desirable. This position also includes participation in the general medicine call roster and the provision of limited holiday cover for general medicine.
Health Service

The service provides comprehensive specialist outpatient and inpatient respiratory services, and primary health care support. Supporting services on site include radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation and medical oncology, and pathology laboratory. Cardiothoracic surgical services are provided in Wellington as the tertiary.
The Location

With a local population of 80 000, this DHB provides services to a population of 160 000. It is close to the North Island ski fields and wine regions and less than 2 hours' drive from Wellington.
Essential Criteria

Doctors must hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
