They are generalists with deep technical understanding of software, hardware, networking, and the Internet, who enjoy taking a holistic view of complex systems. Application Performance is achieved by working closely with Development, Support and Operation teams. Our ultimate goal is application performance that yields an excellent end-user experience.Experience/Skills:4+ years of experience in Software Development with roles like Developer, Performance Engineer or Service Reliability EngineerAbility to distill volumes of data, analyze performance results, and diagnose performance problemsQuick to learn in fast-paced environment, complex architectureGood understanding of Object-oriented programming languages like Java, C#, ScalaUnderstanding of profiling, thread dump, heap dump, garbage collection, cpu and thread utilizationGood understanding of one or more Sql or NoSql databasesAbility to clearly characterize system performance to stakeholdersKnowledge of distributed systems in a public or private cloudResponsibilities:Play pivotal role in debugging, analyzing, quantifying complex production issuesUse plethora of tools and technologies, generic and proprietary, to deeply understand, analyze and identify the bottlenecks in application performance.Collaborate with peers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers and Principal Engineers to influence architectural changes in the product based on in-depth performance and data analysis.Build tools to expedite, enhance and ease multiple aspects of performance analysis.Develop prototypes in various layers of workday stack which propose alternate solutions to existing performance issues.Knowledge or Experience with the following a plus:Experience with any of the tools used for performance and Scalability studies Loadrunner, JProfiler, Jconsole, Gatling, Postmaster and system tools vmstat/strace, sar etc.Experience and passion for Data Science and Big Data technologies, Hadoop, Hive,ElasticSearch, Apache, SparkPrevious experience in dealing with production issuesLI-CD
