This Maori Organisation provides support services for people of all ethnicities who have intellectual impairments. Helping people become more independent and confident in their own abilities is key and you will be an important contributor to making this happen.
The organisation is committed to ensuring tangata is at the centre of decisions that relate to their life. Understanding what each individual wants and needs to live their own personally defined, good life. Considering strengths and interests, how they think and communicate best, who they want to include in their decision-making. A Kaupapa Maori approach with Maori values and practices underpins the backing provided to both staff, the people they support and their whanau.
Knowledge of te reo and tikanga Maori would be an advantage. You will need to have a tertiary qualification and a solid background in all areas of the Human Resources field. A strategic outlook and being future – oriented is imperative for the success of the role along with being self -driven, intrenched in culture change and drive strong leadership and management capability.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing strategic direction and Leadership
Driving people and culture change
Leaderships and management of all aspects of people, performance and culture management
Staff learning and development programmes
Financial Reporting
Participation in tikanga practice and protocols and te reo Maori use
Health and Safety compliance
This role is a key player in the organisation and as such you will be part of the Senior Management Team. You will possess many key competencies including having a strong purpose and direction, being of role model within the organisation, being committed to Tikanga Maori, be a highly effective communicator and able to deliver results.
