People & Capability Manager

Silver Fern Farms are looking for an experienced and passionate People and Culture Manager to join their enthusiastic and supportive team at their Finegand site in Balclutha. This role takes the leadership of a team of five and oversees their largest plant of around 1000 staff. You will be a key member of the senior leadership team at site, reporting directly to the Site Manager, and will coach frontline leaders to be better every day. The role requires 'gumboot time' – time spent in production departments observing interactions and meetings and informally coaching as and when opportunities present themselves. You will drive continuous improvement across all employment practices, take overall responsibility for employment and training at the site and assist leaders in identifying future leadership talent, design and help implement training plans to bridge skills gaps. About you: Significant experience and track record of success in a senior People role, preferably in a large and complex manufacturing organisation A drive to work in a hands-on capacity along with strategic planning Experience building a culture of communication, accountability, empowerment, willingness and inclusiveness.
