We are seeking a Peer Support Worker for our Lighthouse locations in Napier and Hastings.
This role is 25 hours weekly, Monday - Friday, due to internal transfer.
The Peer Support Worker plays a vital role in supporting the Community Services Team Leader to deliver programmes within the Lighthouse locations in Napier and Hastings.
The Lighthouse offers an environment for Whaiora to drop in and participate in programmes that are enhanced by Hua Oranga and Te Whare Tapa Wha models, all peer-led.
The role involves fostering a supportive environment that promotes healing, growth, and empowerment.
You will have input into the design and implementation of programmes and day-to-day supports.
You will support the Lighthouse Team Leader with external and internal relationships, promoting partnerships aligned with a client-centered approach.
We're looking for the right person who is capable, competent, kind, and empathetic, with confidence to support and deliver daily programmes to groups.
We require but are not limited to:

Skills and experience working with whanau with lived experience
Health & Wellbeing Level 4 qualification as a minimum (or working towards)
Current full drivers' license (manual/automatic) – must hold a clean license
Understanding of cultural diversity and ability to work effectively with diverse communities
Commitment to strength-based and solution-focused support for whanau
Strong IT capability with Recordbase, ECA, and Microsoft applications
Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi & commitment to equitable outcomes for whanau
Dedication to delivering services that respond to the needs and aspirations of Maori
Understanding of Te Whare Tapa Wha, Hua Oranga, Te Powhiri Poutama within a Peer Led space
Demonstrated professional and ethical best practices
