Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is one of New Zealand’s largest Institute’s of Technology serving the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato regions with major campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Whakatane, Taupo and Tokoroa, and learning centres spread across the region

The Payroll Administrator is a member of the Finance Team and is responsible for recording, processing and ensuring payment of salaries/wages to meet Toi Ohomai’s employment contract, audit and legal obligations. This requires being familiar with all aspects of the payroll system and maintaining a working knowledge of payroll related changes instigated by the IRD and other external parties.

Required experience & qualifications:

At least 2 years’ experience in payroll working with multiple employment agreements
Use of a computerised payroll system to process a pay run for a large organisation;
Up to date knowledge of employment legislation;
Formal qualification in payroll or business field to at least National Diploma L5 or equivalent;
Numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail skills;
Customer service focus;
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to meet deadlines
Highly competent in a range of computer applications
The standard full-time equivalent working week is 37.5 hours however, 40 hours per week is an option upon request.
