Our leading technology client is looking for an Accountant to focus on and partner with the NZ and Australian payroll divisions The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that all peoplerelated payroll redundancies superannuation bonuses etc obligations are appropriately accounted for in the general ledger Specifically the role will be responsible for leading all aspects of payroll and labour cost accounting including the preparation of recurring and nonrecurring accruals ensuring the P L position is accurate payroll taxes are appropriately reflected and ensure that the business is compliant with regulatory and compliance requirements in relation to payroll accounting and associated taxes Responsibilities includes Business partnering with the business on all payroll queriesGenerating general ledger adjustments to record any necessary adjustmentsDesign and implement regular reports to support the analysis and review of payroll discrepancies or variancesMonitors staff transfer activities and ensures appropriate controls are maintained throughout this processPerforms monthly reconciliations of all payroll accounts i e superannuation holiday pay bonuses FBT PAYE payroll taxes Participates in the creation of the annual operating budgetAssisting in the improvement in internal controls related to payrollThis is a large complex business with loads room for progression and opportunities We are looking for someone who can work closely with the business to drive business performance Ideally you will have experience with accounting requirements regarding payroll We are looking for a CA qualified accountant who is looking for the next step in their career If you enjoy challenging status quo and consider yourself personable and confident with strong technical skills this could be your perfect opportunity If you are interested in this role please apply now or call Kiri Brooks on 021 437 436
