About our department
Our Patient Service Centre department provides support to the clinical department by managing their outpatient clinic receptions, processing referrals and making initial and followup appointments for our patients. Our team collectively makes about 850,000 outpatient appointments and over 300,000 surgical bookings per year.
About the role
This role is pivotal to the smooth running of the clinics and theatre admissions for our patients. The positions are based across the two key sites, Auckland City Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre providing cover between 7.30 am and 6 pm on week days. This role involves rotating between the reception, referrals and the booking teams as required. There is a free shuttle service that operates between these two sites.
This role is covered by the PSA Clerical and Administration MECA (Level 3, page 44) with an indicative starting salary of $54,178 (pro rata dependent on hours worked)

About you
As the ideal person for the role, you will have the following skills and attributes :-
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken with a good command of the English language
A strong desire to provide our patients with a quality experience with the ability to empathise and work compassionately with people from various cultures
Proven administration / customer service / reception experience
Intermediate to advanced computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work as a part of the team and build strong relationships within a multidisciplinary team
Ability to be flexible to adapt to the needs of the service
Strong work ethic and a positive mind set with the ability to problem solve and identify opportunities for improvement
