We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Park Ranger to join our dedicated and innovative Eastern Parks team, providing high quality public spaces to regional residents and visitors.
This permanent role is based at our East Harbour Regional Park in Eastbourne and our Upper Hutt office.The Greater Wellington Parks team is entering a new era, with large scale transition of currently grazed land to native vegetation, increasing recreational opportunities and passionate community engagement across the network.
Building on a strong base, our innovative and dedicated Park Ranger team is at the forefront of providing high quality public spaces to regional residents and visitors.East Harbour Regional Park offers a spectacular range of landscapes to visitors, from wetlands to coastal environments or deep forest.
Whether you like walking, tramping, picnicking, horse riding, or seeking stunning scenery, this park offers it all.About the role:As Park Ranger - East Harbour you will report to the Team Leader, Eastern Parks and be part of the Eastern Ranger team, comprising Kaitoke Regional Park, Akatarawa Forest, Pakuratahi Forest and Wainuiomata Regional Park.
You'll work across the three sections of East Harbour Regional Park, which include the Northern Forest (Butterfly Creek), Parangarahu Lakes and Baring Head.You'll be keen to work in a fast-paced environment while playing a leading role in providing outstanding visitors' experiences.
You'll have responsibility for the on-park delivery of infrastructure and administration (including licenses and concessions), working with Mana Whenua, managing access, compliance, and stakeholder relationships.

However, we will be shortlisting applications as they come in and will interview as soon as possible to secure the right person.The remuneration for this position, inclusive of all benefits, is $74,560 to $111,840, with a midpoint of $93,200.
In addition, a Park Rangers allowance of $10,061 (gross) per annum will be paid to compensate for work that is required outside of the core rostered hours.
