Mary Potter Hospice provides free palliative care for the people of the Wellington Region. We have a 12 bedded Inpatient Unit, and a strong Community team. We take a multi-disciplinary approach in order to provide holistic care for our patients and whanau.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Community Team as a Palliative Care Coordinator in Wellington as we continue to grow New Zealand's competence in palliative care. The skills and dedication of our people make a vital difference to patient and whanau.
Our core values of Mana/Respect, Aroha/Compassion, Rangatiratanga/Dignity, Manaakitanga/Hospitality and Kaitiakitanga/Stewardship are very important to us and we apply these to the people who work here as much as our patients and whanau. We are committed to our staff wellness and offer free EAP services and other wellness incentives in a relaxed and welcoming work environment.
We need you to have a recognised postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in palliative care (or willingness to work towards) and two years post registration palliative care experience is preferable but we will provide training and support for the right person interested in developing their skills in palliative care. Flexibility, sound time management skills and an understanding of and commitment to the multidisciplinary team approach to patient care are essential.
