Now is the perfect time to join the evolving National Compliance Team at the Department of Conservation as we increase in size and capability to further strengthen our national compliance function.

The Role
As our next outreach advisor, you will play a crucial role in coordinating public outreach programmes with the aim of increasing legislative compliance. You will be responsible for a variety of programmes across the 2-year duration of the role. Our main priorities are to reduce breaches of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, increase marine compliance and raise general public awareness for our upcoming infringement system.

About You
We are looking for a driven individual who prides themselves on their exceptional communication skills. You will have previous experience formulating clear messaging through high quality written and visual communications. Effective community outreach is the key driver of success in this position, in order to achieve this, you will need to adapt your messaging to communicate effectively with a variety of different cultural groups. Ideally you will have previous experience developing social media campaigns and evidence of strong analytical skills. An understanding of New Zealand's conservation legislation and relevant tertiary qualification is also a requirement of the role.
