Permanent, full-time Organisational Psychologist role (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday with flexibility around hours of work

The Team
As a team within the larger People and Capability function, Talent Leadership and Capability are responsible for attracting, developing and retaining staff and ensuring our workforce is empowered with the knowledge and capabilities to make a difference for the people we care for. We work to support the People and Capability team, the Canterbury District Health Board, the West Coast District Health Board and Our Health System as a whole.
Our purpose is to grow staff engagement and understanding with the vision and goals for the Canterbury and West Coast health systems and make sure all teams and roles know their accountability and responsibility. As a result, we are actively involved in multiple process and systems improvement projects across talent, leadership and capability as well as the people and capability functions.
The Role
You will be responsible for the following:
Providing subject matter expertise in terms of human behaviour and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; group behaviour and dynamics; societal trends and influences; ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins
Working across the People and Capability function and wider organisation to support innovative approaches for recruitment, selection, leadership and capability development and talent management aligned to best practise principles and procedures
Working collaboratively across People and Capability and the wider organisation with respect to strategic planning, resource allocation, workforce modelling, leadership technique, behavioural science, and coordination of people and resources while reinforcing and encouraging best practise principles
Providing leadership with respect to the principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and facilitation for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects

Your experience will include the following:
Practical experience designing recruitment and selection processes, assessments for selection and development
Experience working with or designing development planning processes
Experience embedding frameworks or competency systems within HR processes
Experience in team development is desirable

Other competencies required for this role:
Master's Degree in Psychology or HR-related specialty
Ability to network, collaborate and build strong and effective working relationships
Highly competent communicator both written and verbal
Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills
Well-developed analytical and critical thinking
A proactive, goal orientated and outcome focussed approach
Commitment to the development of a customer service and candidate care culture
