,Hey New Zealand Backpackers!Are you keen on working and enjoy life when work is done?Wairuna Organics might be the place you are looking for!We are a certified organic farm located in CLINTON between Dunedin and Invercargill. (1 hour each way) It is also close to the Catlins (southern part of the South Island).We now also offer *educational courses, workshops, and respite (* English conversation, Organic market gardening, Driving safe in NZ and more).For more information please visit our website: www.wairunaorganics.co.nz We grow a wide range of vegetables and herbs for the Dunedin Farmers Market and organic shops. The farm is and has been certified organic since more than 10 years now. Animals include a few cows, chickens, 3 cats and 1 dog.We expect 4 hours of good work in exchange for food and accommodation We prefer having easy-going people around that are keen on learning a bit and also enjoy working. The farm also needs people to be able to look after themselves, like cook your own meals etc.There is usually a lot of other people around to share conversations, meals and spare time with.Food will be supplied for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Accommodation is in either the worker's headquarter's, a caravan or a choice of two housetrucks.We harvest all year around, so be aware that winter might be colder down south (but there is a very powerful heater heating the worker's headquarter's).If you are interested, there is a good chance you'll be able to join the markt.Also be aware that this is a business producing vegetables for the market, this means that things can get thougher now and then when work needs to be done.There is no paid work on the farm in general.
