Orchard Harvest Supervisor

Cherryland is a family owned business (8 Ha) right on the town boundary of Blenheim (next to Pak n Save Supermarket) that requires a Supervisor to support our Orchard Manager for the 2019 harvest. Duties include:Overseeing the work of Cherry PickersOverseeing collecting and consolidating fruit from the fieldManaging Pickers and harvest support crewQuality Control checks in the fieldOverseeing daily set up and pack up of gear (ladders, bins, trays, picker harnesses, cards)General orchard housekeeping relating to the harvest including managing picker cards and hours, time sheets and general mucking in to get the job done. Requirements:Full drivers licenceCompetent to drive a gatorMust be able to multitaskAttention to detailWork well under pressure and physically fitBe able to work long hours and weekendsMust be people orientated and get on with multiple nationalitiesPrevious experience dealing with staff essential and must be a team playerHealth and Safety focusedPrevious QC experience and advantage but not essential Hourly rate dependent on experience. Referees essential.This is a fixed term contract that will start approximately 28th November +/- 2-3 days through to 24th December dependent on the timing of the crop. Must have correct visa to be able to work in New Zealand.Basic kitchen and toilet faclilties availble to stay on site in a tent or in a self contained van.
