Operations Manager - Joinery

Details of the offer

New role with scope to develop Commercial & Architectural joinery operation Fantastic team culture Our client is a Timaru based joinery company that works alongside a small group of architects/designers and commercial builders, supporting them to deliver a range of both commercial construction fit outs and other residential projects.
To maintain that position they have invested in new technologies and have built a small high performing team that has a real passion for delivering excellence and looking for continuous improvements.  A focus on quality, premium service and uncompromised delivery has led to them developing a strong reputation that brings them repeat business as the preferred supplier.  This is a new role that is part of their succession planning, so while offering a leadership role in helping manage the day to day operations; it will work with the Managing Director to take a broader role in the front end, in both developing new business opportunities and working with the builders to ensure the project delivery runs smoothly.
As such your areas of involvement will develop to be quite broad ranging and so while the joinery knowledge and experience is critical, so are the planning skills, the ability to deal with the detail and the people skills that will see you very comfortable in working with a full range of suppliers and customers.
This is definitely a role with scope for growth & development, where each day will be different and your ability to problem solve and find solutions as part of the team will be critical.
In seeking applications we are looking for experienced individuals who have initially trained as a Joiner, but want to develop and take on a broader business management role.
As such you'll be good with people, show initiative and be proactive enough to jump to and respond to situations as they arise.
You will be efficient, detail focussed, but also good at building relationships with clients and generating opportunities by being proactive in responding to needs with the architects and builders.
In return you will be joining a business where people are hard-working but know how to have fun.
This is a company where the team works as a cohesive group and where everyone gets to be part of something great.
On offer is a competitive remuneration package plus recognition and reward that is delivered due to its focus on people.
Once established in the role, there will, as part of the succession planning, be the opportunity to buy a shareholding and so secure your longer term future.
