Position Summary & EnvironmentC3 Post Trade Asia Pacific (C3PT) is an innovative medium sized Kiwi success story with a reputation for excellence, integrity, and collaboration, who provide 'post trade' (after trade) data processing services to major tier-1 trading banks, regulators, processing utilities and financial market participants, all over the world.Our C3 Post Trade platform SaaS system processes over a million transactions, worth over USD$1 trillion a day and supports over 3,000 data interfaces (growing daily).
This is all implemented on a scalable, event driven, microservices architecture, where security and robustness of user experience and data processing are key.The Operations Engineer works as a part of the Operations team and is responsible for providing technical expertise while delivering 1st to 3rd line support to the global users of the C3 system.
The primary focus for this position is on the operational service to C3 Post Trade clients, monitoring of the C3 system's health, resolving data integration issues with the database and file formats, and for client integration tasks including on-boarding and new configuration development.This role works alongside a team of experienced .NET developers to assist with the development and maintenance of the C3 system.
This position is highly responsive to the requests of internal stakeholders with work priorities largely influenced by these stakeholders.
As C3 system runs 24 hours a day, this role covers a morning and afternoon shift with handover with Operations staff based in the UK at the start and end of each shift.

The system also utilises BizTalk as the applications integration platform of data, SolacePub+ as messaging services, and Decisions as an external file transformation and delivery service.
C3 Post Trade work with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Excel and use Jira Service Management and Software as a work management product.These technologies are used by the Operations Engineer in the below responsibilities:Operational TasksMonitoring, investigating, and resolving system alerts, exceptions, and health check service alerts to ensure the application is fully operational.Regularly reviewing and keeping work items on the Operations team's work list up to date.Renewing and purchasing C3 application users' digital certificates via the GlobalSign service.Maintaining and updating SQL database configuration for data file pick up and processing.Reviewing and resolving issues with file delivery and transformations in custom Decisions flows.Perform the loading of monthly data for billing clients and investigate any data issues.Monitoring of automated Unit / BizUnit tests and application / database builds on TeamCity.Processing of Invalid DataHandling of invalid data file formats received – updating configuration to cater for file format or liaising with file owners to resolve issues.Handling Suspended Instances in BizTalk which are due to invalid files or messages.Updating missing / new enrichment codes in the SQL database using stored procedures.Client QueriesInvestigating, troubleshooting, and analysing all client queries received on the Operations inbox.Resolving all client requests and issues or escalating to senior members when required.Ensuring clients are regularly updated on their queries and issues.Development & ImplementationUpdating and creating new data sources for the pickup and processing of third-party data files.Updating and creating XML parsing configuration used for transforming data from csv / excel files to a database readable format.Updating and creating configuration used for processing data activities via XML templates into the C3 application.On-boarding of new clients to the C3 platform – creation of organisations and users into the SQL database.Investigating and debugging system exceptions and implementing solutions working alongside Development and Architecture teams.Developing tools and system enhancements for improving client usability of the C3 application and Operational requirements for internal processes.TestingUpdating and creating automated tests for new changes and database objects.
This involves in evaluating the proposed changes and working with the wider team to understand the required testing.Working with QA, Development, and Architecture teams as a zero-defect strategy based on test-driven development to ensure all live changes are accurate and stable.Continuous ImprovementIdentify and introduce industry Best Practice standards in all projects, work requests and responsibilities in terms of processes in the Operations team.Seek to educate team members and stakeholders about Best Practice where appropriate.Work Planning and ManagementWork with the C3 Post Trade Project Managers to meet deadlines under all relevant project plans.Manage daily tasks and projects to ensure work is completed consistent with assigned priorities and deadlines.Provide timely updates to task progression to the Operations team, Managers, and relevant members of the wider team.Occupational Health & SafetyResponsible for taking reasonable care to ensure own safety and health at work, and to avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person at work.Responsibilities on DemandDue to the fluid and dynamic environment within the group, new, additional or amended position responsibilities may be required at any time.Successful demonstration of change orientation is an ongoing responsibility of all positions.Key Result AreasComplete all assigned tasks in a timely manner.Communication with clients and internal members is done with utmost professionalism.All other internal and client-facing regular deliverables (which are not projects themselves) to be achieved on time and to the required standard.Ensure all actions directly support the company objectives, values, policies, and processes.Person SpecificationQualificationsA Tertiary qualification (degree or post-graduate diploma) in IT, majoring in:Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computing Engineering or any other degree related to Information TechnologyPreferred Skills and ExperienceFormal training in Programming fundamentals (e.g.
