We are currently looking for a motivated, ambitious and dedicated professional with strong operational and financial risk and controls improvement experience to join our growing Risk Advisory Services team in Christchurch.
The location
Located on the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island, Christchurch has a world-renowned adventure playground on its doorstep – it is bordered by the Pacific Ocean, beautiful Banks Peninsula and the rich farmlands of the Canterbury Plains. The towering Southern Alps are less than 100 kilometres away and the resort towns of Queenstown, Wanaka and Milford Sound are all within easy reach.
What you’ll do
This is a career opportunity to grow your business, risk, process improvement and advisory skills within a Big 4 environment with a strong focus on mentoring and team success. As a Senior Consultant you will work with partners and senior staff on a range of challenging projects to help our clients improve their organizations, helping them identify opportunities to reduce risks, streamline processes and optimize financial and operational performance. Actively participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions. Develop organisational policy, process and control frameworks and supporting documentation for business assessment, review and advice.
Our team
We are a diverse team with diverse range of skill sets - amongst our team we have a keen mountaineer, a table tennis champion and other hidden talents which you might discover. We have the largest risk advisory services team in the South Island with extensive knowledge in IT Advisory, Security Architecture, Cyber Risk, Forensic, Discovery, Governance, Risk Management and Internal Audit.
Your Profile
3-5 years’ experience in Operational Risk, Process Improvement and/or Internal Audit
Bachelor's degree (in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information / Systems, Accounting Information Systems or related field)
Understanding of risks, controls and assurance and their linkages
Good knowledge of internal controls and business processes, and improvement
Strong organisational skills
Excellent written skills as reporting will be a large part of the role
An energetic and proactive attitude
Excellent time management and communication skills
