Operating Theatre Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Queen Mary / Quality Improvement Perioperative, Dunedin Hospital Salary Band - $114,000 – $121,000 p.a prorata + Kiwisaver Permanent vacancy 1 FTE / 40 hours per week Step into management We are on the lookout for a passionate, experienced nurse to step into a Clinical Nurse Coordinator position to provide direction. Dunedin Hospital has 9 Operating Theatres, each one with a designated Clinical Nurse Coordinator to provide leadership and promote flow and coordination for a cluster of surgical specialties. Mo te turanga | About the role Champion and promote Quality Improvement Initiatives within the Perioperative Department, Provide specialist nursing care and expertise both in direct care delivery, and the mentoring of staff. Collaborate across the perioperative team acting in the roles of clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, and leader/change agent in the pursuit of clinical excellence and improved health outcomes. Establish and promote clinical nursing professional standards Coordinate and implement best practice principles, Develop and sustain constructive relationships that enhance your ability to influence, Model a partnership approach with all stakeholders Ensure effective day to day management and coordination across shifts in the operating theatre. Mou ake | About you A natural, confident leader Leads from the front and by example An adept problem solver Confidence to make sound clinical and leadership decisions Advanced communication skills Can build successful working relationships Experience in de-escalation and conflict resolution You will need to be a registered and experienced nurse well versed in managing resources with an in-depth understanding of delivering sound clinical work through motivating others. Perioperative experience is essential.
