Mental health services in Hawke's Bay are centred around two large community teams, with a kaupapa Maori mental health service provided by an NGO partner and satellite teams in the smaller population centres. Within the service are Child and Family, Home Based Treatment, Maternal Mental Health, Te Ara Manapou, Consultation-Liaison, Emergency Mental Health teams, Older Persons and Addiction services. Permanent 0.8 FTE post available in Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH). Local residential addictions treatment service is provided in Napier and an opioid substitution programme is provided in both major population centres. Mental health services work closely with primary care and NGO providers to create individual care packages for patients and some specialist services such as forensic care is provided on a regional basis.
