Its involvement in the New Zealand building industry dates back to 1888, and today it operates at 15 sites and employs approximately 150 people.It is part of the regional Holcim Australia/New Zealand business and the global LafargeHolcim Group, the world’s leading supplier of cement, aggregates and construction-related services represented in 90 countries on all continents.About the role:3 month Fixed Term roleBased at our Auckland Terminal LaboratoryA close knit team and an inclusive cultureBased at our Auckland Terminal Laboratory and reporting to Technical Manager., this 3 month fixed term role will be responsible for supporting the company’s quality control processes through the timely and accurate development, testing and reporting of physical laboratory services for testing of routine and external samples.There will be a requirement to maintain the laboratory accreditation through a high level of housekeeping and document control and continuous improvement of laboratory procedures and practices.The successful candidate will ideally have:A tertiary qualification in Chemistry (or similar)Two years experience in a laboratory environmentAn understanding of the requirements of ISO 17025 and/or ISO 9001 and its requirementsKnowledge of the concrete manufacturing process and technologyKnowledge of aggregate industry and associated testing processesThe ability to manage physically demanding workIntermediate Computer Skills – Word, ExcelA commitment to a culture that values and implements sound health and safety practices.You will also need to be able to demonstrate a commitment to a culture that values and implements sound health and safety practices.This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a willingness to further extend their career in a progressive and consistently successful company that places high emphasis on the continuing development of the skills and abilities of its people.
