Housekeeping

Do you feel like a break from traveling? We run a cosy, medium-sized hostel in Picton, the gateway to the Marlborough Sounds. We are looking for some friendly people to start as soon as possible to help us out around the hostel in housekeeping for about 1.5 hours per day, with 1 day off a week. Ideally we like people to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks.
This is the equivalent of the previous “Work for Accommodation” scheme but to meet NZ employment laws this will be a paid position of 9 hours per week @ $19.20 per hour (holiday pay incl) & you will require a working holiday visa & have an IRD number. This is a live in position with accommodation provided in an ensuite dorm which will be deducted from your weekly pay at a nightly rate of $22.00. The pay covers accommodation, use of facilities, breakfast etc. There are no extra hours available at the moment.
Included with your accommodation we provide a breakfast in the morning & chocolate pudding & ice cream every night. We provide hot soup in Winter.. Free unlimited wifi, use of spa pool, washing machines, Netflix movie room, bikes, and cookies at morning teatime are all part of the deal. Tea & coffee, cooking oil & spices are available anytime.
We pride ourselves on our reputation so you must be willing to interact with guests positively and take pride in keeping our hostel as clean as possible.
