The Role
Our Opportunity
As Engineering Manager for NZ's largest Baking site (Quality Bakers Auckland), you'll have responsibility for safety, quality, reactive and preventative maintenance, efficiency and cost-effective management of the Engineering function. Spanning across five production plants, buildings, capex project management, new installations, contractor management and people. You'll join the Site Lead Team to build a culture focused around people and excellence while delivering results that continue the success of Goodman Fielder.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
Drive reliability, efficiency and excellence from Engineering across the site
Develop and submit sound business cases and capex requests to achieve the site strategy of being a modern and high-quality manufacturer
Manage projects on time and in scope
Mitigate quality risk for our consumers and brands through consistent delivery of quality standards
Meet or exceed financial targets to improve total delivered cost of the engineering budget
Support and drive operational effectiveness
Use best in class knowledge and ingenuity to eliminate
Design plant modifications aided by advanced in-depth knowledge of plant and process
Drive Energy and waste reduction targets so that they are achieved
Models safe behaviours, prioritises excellence in HSE management and ensures team members are actively engaged in HSE initiatives and projects
Commitment to zero harm safety culture
About You
To be successful in your application, you will have:
5 years+ experience as an Engineering Manager
Managed a team of 8 -10+ people
Managed maintenance budgets of more than $2m
Experience with capital projects of up to $250k
Experience of contractor management
Reliability and continuous improvement
Advanced knowledge of food industry process operations
Process reliability techniques, measures and standards
Proven mechanical process automation Skills
Experience in business case and capex requirements and processes
