The Ministry of Health is going through an exciting change in the business intelligence (BI) and analytical space. We have developed a business intelligence and data warehouse strategy and have started to implement this new strategy, starting with adopting a rapid development methodology for delivery, introducing Qlik Sense as our new BI tool, upgrading our Oracle Data Warehouse and improving our data models.
We are now looking for our next super star – an enthusiastic, creative BI Service Delivery Lead with great engagement and data story telling skills to help us bring data to life to change lives.
You are a person that loves the customer engagement part of the Business Intelligence delivery cycle. Key to your success will be your ability to engage with a variety of customers; from our stakeholders, to shape high level requirements and facilitate prioritisation, to the analytical community that is spread across the Ministry of Health, to the wider health sector
The Business Intelligence Service Delivery Lead is expected to be a thought leader, who challenges the status quo and champions the on-going development of the Business Intelligence experience, helping the team and our customers to be data brilliant. The team sits in the National Collections and Reporting group within Data and Digital Directorate based in Wellington.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
Experience in leadership and solution design for significant pieces of work; setting realistic expectation and ensuring delivery
Experience in engaging with stakeholders at different levels
Experience in data story telling
Ability to identify and define pragmatic solutions that are easily implemented and adhere to good BI practice
Ability to bring together diverse concepts and design data solutions that not only meet requirements but also provide the best possible value for consumers and stakeholders
A positive outlook and excellent skills in collaborating and mentoring within the team, across the Ministry and within the health sector
A strong client focus with good networking, interpersonal and relationship building skills
The ability to communicate clearly in a variety of settings
