The Ministry of Health is going through an exciting change in the business intelligence (BI) and analytical space. We have developed a business intelligence and data warehouse strategy and have started our journey to implement this new strategy, starting with adopting a rapid development methodology for delivery, introducing Qlik Sense as our new BI tool, upgrading our Oracle Data Warehouse and improving our data models.
We are also exploring cloud-based technologies to design and build a platform which provides smarter ways of working. This involves adopting new technology and scaling existing ones, taking advantage of our core capabilities and resources to design and build analytical capability for the future.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic & creative Senior Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Developer to help us bring data to life to change lives.
The Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse team (BIDW team) sits in the National Collections and reporting group within Data and Digital based in Wellington.
In this role you will specify, design and deliver Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions which exceeds business expectations. You are expected to have a positive outlook and excellent skills in collaborating within the team, across the Ministry and the wider health sector.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
A strong client focus with good networking, interpersonal and relationship building skills
The ability to communicate clearly in a variety of settings
Strong Oracle SQL skills.
A strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
A good understanding of Business Intelligence and Data warehouse trends
A strong understanding of different data warehouse modelling techniques
Experience in mentoring, and support of colleagues and stakeholders
Ability to Identify and define pragmatic solutions that are easily implemented and adhere to common BI practices
Ability to bring together diverse concepts and design data solutions that not only meet requirements but also provide the best possible value for consumers and stakeholders
Knowledge of WhereScape RED is beneficial but not essential
Knowledge of Qlik Sense is beneficial but not essential
